The Basic Laws Of Martial Arts

  1. NEVER allow your pride to overcome your discipline.
  2. What you need is emotional content, not anger.
  3. To gain that emotional content, you should focus on following the path straight to the sun. That is when you get the ability to strike skillfully.
  4. Do not fight when you are angry, you should be relaxed and calm, that is when your attack will become 10 times stronger than that when angry. As Bruce Lee once said:” A quick temper will make a fool of you soon enough.”
  5. If you know more than one type of martial arts, you should know how to blend in with any type of attack you do, in here, we go to Bruce Lee’s technique: Jeet-Kune-Do of mixed martial arts.  To understand this more, Bruce Lee once said:” Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle, and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash.” So this means that you should imagine yourself as if you are the water.
  6.  The “Yin and Yang” theory is actually descendant from Chinese philosophy, because this theory symbolizes the vice-versa energy source. This means that you should use your opponent’s attack against him, or in another phrase “reflect his attack”. Since “Yin” represents the day, and “Yang” represents the night, and the day and night are in a vice-versa direction.
  •  Kung-Fu is not about framing your mind skills, it is a way to create your own style. As Bruce Lee said:” If you follow the classical pattern, you are understanding the routine, the tradition, the shadow, but you are NOT understanding yourself.”
  •  Kung-Fu is not just a way of fighting, it Is a way of living and thinking. In northern Shaolin, Kung-Fu is about self-discipline and self-discovery, to them, it does not reside in the fist, it resides in the soul. Kung-Fu is about channeling what is in your mind and soul.
